I’m really not sure why it’s called morning sickness because it can hit you at any time or it can last all day it really should be called all day sickness.
It’s said to be most common in first pregnancies. All lies people! I had horrible morning sickness my 2nd pregnancy. Everyone always says to “breathe” or “it will pass” that’s easy for them to say when they are not the one suffering. In my desperate need of relief, I researched and I found some great home remedies:
-
Ginger Ginger Ginger
This popular remedy is very effective. You can drink it or eat it. Most common food and drinks are ginger ale, ginger tea, and the infamous ginger candies.
-
B6
Taking 25mg 3 times a day is known to reduce nausea and vomiting.
-
Apple Cider Vinegar and honey
1tbsp of apple cider vinegar and 1 tbsp of honey in a glass of cold water. Sounds nasty right
-
mint
Have some peppermints in your purse? Pop one in your mouth. Have some mint flavored gum stashed in your purse? chew it. Or you could simply drink a cup of peppermint tea. Avoid peppermint tea if you have heartburn.
-
Something Sour
Sounds crazy but sipping on lemonade, sucking on a warhead or even sniffing on a lemon works.
-
Eat Starch
Remember going to the clinic at school whenever you had an upset stomach? The nurse would give you crackers I bet you wondered why. Well, starch is known to settle a queasy stomach.
Still, feel unbearably sick?
Call your doctor there are medications that can be prescribed. Many women are against this option because they are afraid of harming the baby. But in most cases, the benefits outweigh the risks. Some morning sickness could be so severe it could actually harm the baby.
